I have thought about it long and hard. I am going to vote. However, this cycle I am a single issue voter.
I am a #2A voter. The president and Republicans in Congress (except leader Thune who is a sellout) can take a small victory lap for getting no tax on suppressors, SBRs and SBSs over the finish line. However, it’s organizations like GOA, Silencer Shop and Palmetto State Armory that finished the job.
Why?
I am sure there are some in Congress and state/local governments that are seething over the recent #2A victories in courts and I know they will do whatever they can to take an axe to whatever #2A wins that have happened lately. For crying out loud, there is a bill to regulate air guns. What more evidence do you need?
I wouldn’t put it past some elected officials into blackmailing the president over impeachment to get #2A changes signed in to law. I mean why not? Has corruption and malfeasance ever stopped them?
We all know how the administration has been fickle when it comes to just about everything. Agenda 47 is pretty much in the circular file (86’d).
If the Dems take the House and Senate we NEED suppressors, SBRs and SBSs to be common use weapons before the end of the year.
If you aren’t going to vote then buy as many as you can. Or, put a stock on your pistols. Or make your own suppressors. The more of these weapons that are owned by the citizens, the better the case against those trying to leech our God given rights from us (because SCOTUS has decided to use “in common use” as criterium for if a weapon is covered by the #2A).
Will my vote make a difference? I don’t know, but IMHO, even if it is all fake, a lot of us need more time if we are going to help make these recent #2A victories stick. It’s not a risk I am willing to take on behalf of all of you. Even though I live in a red state.
We need the #2nd to defend the #1st.
BTW I also want a MD-500 with mini guns, a M-1 Abrams, and a howitzer. Why should the government have a monopoly on the ability to commit violence? We are truly in upside down world.
