The reasons are shifting. Trump has less than thirty days to get the Hell out of there or risk losing at the mid-terms. And the problem with that is, all the present Iranian regime has to do is survive - even hide.
And that depends upon the ground force we are relying upon - an uprising. That task force is not carrying its own ground force (typically two regiments of Marine infantry). That means we are running a bluff and it is showing the first signs of falling apart with the change in stated objectives.
Trump has some decisions to make if the Iranian people don't step up.
