One of the episodes this week was Sympathy for the Shutdown
I took it one step further
Sympathy for the ATC
Parody —
(To the tune of “Sympathy for the Devil”)
Please allow me to introduce myself,
I’m the voice you hear on the ground.
Been around since dawn this morning,
Keepin’ planes from goin’ down.
I call clear for heavy traffic,
Weather’s rough and lights are dim,
When your captain starts to panic,
It’s my voice that’s calming him.
Pleased to meet you, hope you filed your flight,
But what’s confusing me
Is why you checked in wrong tonight!
Stuck some jets in holding patterns,
While the thunder’s rolling through.
“Descend to five,” I tell you twice,
But you swear you heard “climb to two.”
Gave a clearance to a cargo bird,
Told a Cessna, “stand by, please.”
Now there’s chatter on my frequency,
From a pilot asking, “where’s Gate B?”
Pleased to meet you, hope your mic’s still live,
And if you’re reading wrong,
You’ll give my blood pressure a rise!
"Say again your altitude?"
"You're off the localizer, dude!"
Got a lineup down on Runway Two,
And a Southwest taxiing through.
Every flight plan needs attention,
Every jet thinks they’re first in line.
You all wanna make connection,
But I just want lunch on time.
So when you’re climbing, keep it steady,
Don’t go rogue, don’t play the fool.
‘Cause I’ve got fifty blips already,
And one’s ignoring every rule!
Pleased to meet you, hope you land with grace,
But if you bust my airspace —
I might re-route you out to space!
Show some sympathy,
For the ATC.
We keep the skies from mayhem,
So please don’t radio-scream at me!
